Andrew Thomas Price is a highly respected extreme survival specialist and television professional with decades of practical experience operating in challenging wilderness environments. He is the founder of Dryad Bushcraft, one of the UK’s longest-established bushcraft schools, and is widely recognised for his ability to apply traditional skills to real-world survival situations.

Andrew’s expertise goes far beyond recreational bushcraft. Through his television work and consultancy roles, he has demonstrated advanced and extreme survival skills, including long-term self-sufficiency, improvised shelter construction, fire lighting in adverse weather, wild food procurement, foraging, trapping theory, and safe navigation in remote and complex terrain. His approach is rooted in calm decision-making, risk management and environmental awareness — essential skills for operating safely in extreme or unpredictable conditions.

For the past eight years Andrew has enjoyed the role of Global Ambassador for the Bushcraft & Survival Skills Magazine, and has regularly addressed audiences as a guest speaker at the Bushcraft Show.

Andrew Thomas Price is a television presenter and interviewer with a passion for telling stories on location.  He’s at home filming along rugged coastlines, in the countryside, on farms or out with wildlife and community groups.

Andrew is best known as a long-standing presenter on ITV Cymru Wales’ BAFTA-nominated series Coast & Country (2012 - 2020).

On Coast & Country he was known for his relaxed, people first approach. Andrew quickly puts contributors at ease and draws out natural, engaging conversations – often while walking, working or exploring alongside them.  Calm, curious and credible on camera, he brings warmth, authenticity and a strong sense of place to factual and lifestyle programmes.

Global Ambassador for Bushcraft Magazine

Andrew has been the global ambassador for the leading specialist publication “Bushcraft Magazine” since 2017. 

Promoting authentic bushcraft and survival training and championing those who seek to conserve ancestral skills for future generations is central to this role.

Additionally, Andrew works closely with equipment producers and suppliers from around the world. He is actively involved with the design and marketing for a wide range of outdoor products, helping to ensure that the equipment people choose to take with them into the wilderness won’t let them down when they need it the most.

Media Consultant

Behind the scenes, Andrew has been trusted as a technical adviser, survival consultant and safety specialist on national and international productions. His work has included advising on extreme environment survival, participant safety, and realistic wilderness practice, most notably as a survival safety consultant on several episodes of Bear Grylls: Into the Wild in the Indian Ocean. He has also contributed specialist knowledge to History Channel productions, where accuracy and credibility in survival and historical techniques are critical.

Through his youtube channel he shares practical experience – base knowledge covering traditional bushcraft skill, survival techniques, personal preparedness and equipment reviews, his contact blends hands-on demonstrations with real world insights, focusing on self reliance, resilience and the mind set needed to operate effectively in natural and uncertain environments.

In addition to television, Andrew has worked as a media researcher, appeared regularly on BBC Radio Wales, and written for Bushcraft & Survival Skills Magazine, further reinforcing his reputation as a knowledgeable and reliable authority in his field.
